Conversion to a Floating Storage and Offloading Unit


ASL Shipyard was awarded a EPC contract from PetroVietnam Transportation Corporation "PV Trans" for the conversion of a Suezmax Tanker into a FSO unit for deployment in the Dai Hung (Big Bear) oil field, operated by PV Trans, off the coast of southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.

This fast-tracked project was completed on schedule with delivery on the 15th of August 2009 to PV Trans at ASL's Batam Yard. The tanker was re-class to American Bureau of Shipping - A1 Floating Storage and Offloading System (Disconnectable), AMS, ACCU, RFL (5), 2014, Dai Hung Field, offshore Vietnam.

Major Scope of Works:

Fabricate, Supply and Installation of a Hydrocyclone De-Oiler Unit on Skid
The installed system cleans produced water debottomed from the FSO cargo tanks to 40ppm Oil-in-Water (OIW) content prior to disposal overboard

Fabrication, Supply and Installation of a helicopter deck
Super Puma helicopters with maximum mass of 9300kg. The design and installation of the Helipad and support systems were approved by Class to fulfill the requirements of CAP437

Supply and Installation of Metering Skid
For the discharging of crude oil to a shuttle tanker via a new metering system with min. 3 lines x 10,000 bbls/hr, includes a prover loop and auto-sampling system.
